Amy Sanders, MA, LPC

Amy has enjoyed being a therapist for over 25 years. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of Portland in 1996, and her Master of Arts in Counseling from Western Seminary in 2000. 

Amy has worked in multiple settings including, high schools, community mental health centers, private practice and group settings. Amy considers it an absolute honor to walk with people and provide a safe place for individual adults to examine life patterns, learn about how their past impacts their present and allow individuals space to find a new ways of thriving  

Amy utilizes an integrative approach to therapy drawing from multiple modalities. She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to challenge negative thoughts that inhibit growth. Through acceptance and Commitment therapy, she helps individuals find a new way of relating to their feelings and learning how to reframe from thoughts that impact self negatively.  Amy also places great importance on how the body and mind connect. She uses mindfulness, body awareness and EMDR to help enhance typical talk therapy.  

Amy has experience working with many areas including: anxiety, depression, parenting support of high needs children, ADHD, woman’s mental health issues, integrative mental health, stress management, life changes, grief and shame, relationship issues, trauma, sexual abuse, spiritual abuse and childhood neglect/abuse.
